Shreveport Mudbugs Bring Black 318 Jerseys Back For Playoffs
The Shreveport Mudbugs hockey organization has raised more banners in Shreveport than any other franchise. From the WPHL to the CHL, and now the North American Hockey League (NAHL), the Bugs have tons of banners hanging over their ice. This has made them one of, if not the, most successful sports franchises in Shreveport.
Sure, the Mudbugs had to take a few years off, but that was more about a lack of venue provided by the Shreveport-Bossier area than success on the ice or in the stands. Since the team has returned, they've won two NAHL Robertson Cup Championships since they joined the league in 2015.
Now the Mudbugs are fighting to add another banner in the NAHL this year. As they try to score another Robertson Cup, they've already beaten their rivals in the Lone Star Brahmas, but now they face elimination in Game 3 against the Oklahoma Warriors.
The Mudbugs are only guaranteed one more home game, this Friday night. If they win, they play again on Saturday night, also at George's Pond inside the historic Hirsch Coliseum.
For this Friday night's game, the team will be bringing back one of their most popular jerseys...the black 318 jerseys...
These jerseys are an alternate for the team, dropping their traditional purple and teal in favor of black, white, and silver. The team has played in them during numerous home games this year, and fans keep buying out the whole stock at games.
The Mudbugs need fans to pack the pond, and get loud Friday night...in exchange for coming to support the team, they have restocked the Black 318 jerseys. But make sure to get to the game early, because these WILL sell out.
