Hockey season is officially back in Shreveport. The Shreveport Mudbugs kicked off their home schedule last month, and it has been great to have hockey action back at George's Pond inside The Hirsch.

This weekend will be the Mudbugs traditional Stick It To Cancer Weekend. The games will feature specialty jerseys worn by the team on the ice, specialty merch for fans, and a jersey auction. That auction will feature the player worn jerseys from this weekends games. So if you have a favorite player, you can get their personally worn jersey Saturday night.

The weekend also features an opportunity to give back. On Saturday, you can make a donation to Shriner's Hospital with every ticket purchase. Here's how that works:

Any Shreveport Mudbugs hockey game is a blast for the whole family, but this weekend's promotional plans will make it even sweeter than normal. You can bring the whole family out for incredible fun with the game, giveaways, and jerseys. Plus there will be skating with the players after the game on Saturday night, which is always fun for the kids. Even if they don't know how to skate, there are "skate trainers" that kids can hold onto while skating around.

The Mudbugs won't be back in town until mid-November. So don't miss your chance to enjoy some Shreveport hockey while you can!
