As I Write This My Head Still Hurts.

I had a friend mention there was a sign down in downtown Shreveport and it looked horrible. It's true, there is a huge eyesore in downtown Shreveport, and this sign is dangerous. Little did I know I would come face to face with it and walk away with a gash on my head.

I Came Head to Head With This Sign and the Sign Won.

The old Inferno nightclub sign is hanging by a thread. I must confess, I was on my phone and not paying attention when I hit the metal sign and before I realized it, my hat was covered in blood and the top of my head had a gash in it. Should I have been texting and walking? No, however, the last thing I should be worried about is coming face to face with a sign with metal sides that can serve as a knife.

The old sign has Real Estate Agency information on it and we are wondering how much longer Beth King Real Estate will let this sign hang before someone from their staff gets with the owners of the building to remove this hazard. According to several downtown residents, this sign took a fall on Thursday night. That means that Friday and Saturday night several people enjoying the downtown nightlife saw this eyesore. Not only is it embarrassing for Shreveport, but I wonder how many other people may have gotten hurt?

I am 5'5" and according to several people I am considered "short". I stood next to the sign to see if there is any way I could have cleared it. This sign would hit someone if they were five feet tall. This is a very serious situation, we hope the owners of the building remove the sign as soon as possible.

We can't have a better Shreveport when we let business be careless when it comes to appearance. How can Shreveport come together to fill these empty spots throughout downtown? Why do so many buildings in downtown Shreveport remain vacant?
