This NFL offseason is setting up to be a pretty wild one. There are some big name players who are being allowed to walk away by their current teams, which could create a very interesting free agent market.

The Denver Broncos letting Russell Wilson go was a big splash, even if some people saw it coming. The fact the team was willing to eat over $80 million in dead cap space was a shock to some. Much like today's big NFL news...some saw it coming, but its still shocking to a few.

The New York Giants are letting running back Saquon Barkley enter the open free agent market.

The team had the chance to place the Franchise Tag on the running back, but decided not to. If the team did use the tag on him, it would have cost them $12.1 million for this year. According to ESPN, the 27-year-old running back has made it known for a long time that he wasn't comfortable being tagged this year. Mostly because he played under the Franchise Tag last season.

Now this sets up a scenario where Barkley can get his first (and probably only) big contract of his career. As a running back approaching 30-years-old, his time in the NFL is almost up. So the question is, which team will give him that deal?

Multiple sources are reporting that a team high on the list of probabilities is none other than the Dallas Cowboys.

If the Cowboys go after Barkley, it could set up one of the best offenses the NFL has seen in a while. We're talking about a recreation of "The Triplets" from the glory days of the 1990s. With Dak Prescott at QB, Barkley in the backfield, and CeeDee Lamb catching passes...you could have all the ingredients Head Coach Mike McCarthy could ask for.

Are the Cowboys going to be willing to open the checkbook for Barkley? It seems to fit the stereotype...but lets see them do it first.
