Easter Egg Hunts, Airshow, Shopping, And More This Weekend In East Texas

Easter weekend is here. Kids all over Tyler, Gilmer, Longview, Sulphur Springs, Jacksonville, Henderson, Kilgore, Athens, and Whitehouse will be hunting some brightly colored eggs that have been laid by the Easter Bunny! Many will be looking for that golden egg, which usually means some kind of big prize or MONEY!

I'll be looking for a golden egg this weekend when I play Powerball with hopes of winning that $935 million jackpot!

Easter weekend in East Texas should be absolutely gorgeous and very comfortable. Looking at the forecast from the National Weather Service - temperatures will be hovering around 80 degrees with partly to mostly cloudy skies by Sunday afternoon. Great weather to get outdoors and do something in East Texas.

Wings Over Pegasus Airshow

Welcome to our biggest fundraising event of the year! This airshow is something you don’t want to miss. If you’ve never seen an airshow before, you can expect to see professional airshow performers executing stunning aerobatics: loops, rolls, stalls, spins, and hammerheads! There is also formation flying, which is multiple planes flying together, wing tip to wing tip! Every dollar made at this event goes straight to the care of our rescued horses, donkeys, and mules. We couldn’t carry out our mission without your support! There is an admission charge for this event.

Easter Egg Hunt @ The Arboretum

Join us for an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30th at 10:00 am. Parking will be in the Maude Cobb parking lot (enter at our West Gate!)
Our Easter bunnies will be there to escort you through the gardens to the site of the egg hunt. This event is included with general admission to the gardens - $5 for ages 7 and up, with kids 6 and under free. Photo ops with the Easter Bunnies will be available!
The egg hunt will be on the Nature Plaza next to the Nature Center building. No eggs permitted in the garden area, please! It's a BEAUTIFUL time of year to be at the Arboretum...come see us!

2024 Easter Egg Hunt @ Calie's Acre

Hwy 300 - Gilmer

We will have Egg hunts at 11 am and 2 pm. There will be 3 different hunts each time. Newborns to 3 years old will hunt first then we will move to 4 to 6 years old and last move to 7 years old and up. Each egg hunt participant will get a goodie bag after the hunt is over by turning in the gathered eggs. This ensures each child will receive a bag even if they are shy or don’t gather any eggs!

Easter Egg Hunt Drop

Harrison County Airport - Marshall

Hop on over to the Harrison County Airport to watch an Easter egg drop. The egg hunt begins at 11:30 and will go on until all eggs are found. Hang around and take pictures with the planes and have a tasty lunch (food truck on location); if you can stomach it, book a flight on the beautiful Stearman (PT-17, provided by the CAF Lone Star Wing!

(Free admission and open to all ages; must bring your own Easter basket).

The egg hunt will begin at 8 pm behind the fire department.
There will be 2 separate age categories infants-5 years and 6 years and up. The Easter Bunny will be there for pictures. There will be food and drinks available for purchase through the fire department. Come out and have a great time with your local Ben Wheeler volunteer firefighters!
