After celebrating Thanksgiving with the family and eating all the turkey, dressing, sides, and desserts your stomach can hold a lot of us will be looking forward to some rest and relaxation. For those with family in town for the holidays, you might need to have a standby plan that offers up some entertainment.

While the big festivals and fairs have disappeared for the time being, there are still some fun activities that you can be a part of this weekend. You'll just want to make sure you dress for the event, it's still going to be chilly in East Texas this weekend.

Kilgore Cruise Night

Classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles will converge upon Kilgore's historic downtown underneath the oil derricks for a classic cruise night. There will be door prizes, raffles, and more during this 50s-themed event.

Walk Of Lights

Friday - Sunday 6p - 9p

Take a stroll through a self-guided magical light-up wonderland in Palestine. You'll have an opportunity to have your pictures taken with Santa (for a fee) and there will also be concessions available for purchase. There is a parking fee, but the trail is free.

The Polar Express @ The Texas State Railroad

Hop aboard the steam train and take a ride to the North Pole and be a part of the classical movie - 'The Polar Express'. Passengers will enjoy hot chocolate, cookies, and being a part of the story. Tickets for this event are available but limited on specific days.

Drive-thru Christmas Light Parks
