Celebrities That People in South Louisiana Say They’re Related To

One thing that I love about people here in South Louisiana is that we are not afraid to announce who we're related to.

Add into the equation a famous person or two and the conversation only gets better.

We recently asked listeners on social media to reveal who they're relayed to, that's famous, and some of the responses shocked us.

Sure, it may not be immediate family but to know that you have a distant cousin or uncle who is famous is still pretty cool.

I suspect that if we all did some extensive research within our family tree we would all find someone in the distance who is famous and that is tied into our "family."

So, let's take a look at a few of the responses we got from listeners and you too may be shocked to find out who a few folks are related to. Let me note that some on the list are from the Acadiana region, thus we aren't shocked to hear that some of you may be related to celebrities like Ali Landry or Ron Guidry.

One listener said that she was related to the pop icon through marriage. Does she follow you on Instagram?

Someone said their distant cousin was none other than the legend Kenny Rodgers.

A few people are related to this Louisiana icon, Sammy Kershaw!

we had a few people say they're related to perhaps the best football player to ever come out of the state of Louisiana, Kevin Faulk.

One person reported that they're related to former basketball ball star, Tim Duncan.

Terry Bradshaw is from northern Louisiana so we weren't shocked to see that someone is related to this NFL Hall of Fame player.

Again, no surprise here, Hunter Hayes has roots in Acadiana.

This admission was a surprise, someone said in the distance that they're related to actress Julia Roberts.

Singer Matt Stell made the list too.

Ali Landy is from Breaux Bridge so we know many of her relatives are here and some announced proudly that they're related to her.

One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Rpn Guidry has lots of family here and some were not shy to announce their relation.

So, apparently, Beyonce has family in the area, and by FAR her was the most mentioned. Whether true or not, many claim this Queen in south Louisiana.

Chef Paul Prudhomme is an icon in Louisiana and it was good to see some of his relatives mention his name in the survey.

Someone in Acadiana reports that they're cousins, although it may be very distant, with Dallas Cowboy icon Coach Tom Landry.
