An Emu in South Louisiana got loose and deputies gave chase.

This isn't the first time we've reported on these large birds getting loose from their enclosures, but in this case, when the deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office caught the bird he put it where most criminals end up, in the back of his police unit.

As you'll see below the large bird was placed in the squad car and taken back to its rightful owner.

We don't know how long this bird was on the loose, but it likely enjoyed its time while away form its owners. However, because of its antics, this bird ended up where no one wanted to be.

We're glad the bird was captured, detained, and safely returned to its owner.

Check out this large bird in the back of the police unit now if we can only get video from the squad car.
