They are sleek, they are sexy, and they are built for business and you can see them all over Louisiana too. From Dubach to Denham Springs and Bogalusa to Basile we have all seen a Louisiana State Police cruiser. Most of the time we only catch a glimpse of those machines in our rearview mirror or out of our peripheral vision when they are parked on the shoulder of a roadway.

These vehicles not only are used by our well-trained and dedicated troopers in the line of duty, but they are also symbols of our state. And Louisiana State Police would like our help in showcasing that symbol of Louisiana in the 2024 American Association of State Troopers Best-Looking Cruiser Contest.

I am sure you have seen calendars that feature hunky firemen or fit and firm lifeguards but in this calendar, they are all about the hardware. And the Louisiana submission for the calendar contest has a very strong Cajun connection.

Many of you might recognize the backdrop of the submission from the Louisiana State Police. It is LARC's Acadiana Village in Lafayette, Louisiana. The location was chosen over several other sites because of its rustic and very Cajun appearance.

A spokesperson for Louisiana State Police suggested the rural and rustic backdrop of Acadian Village was a nice contrast for the ultra-modern police vehicle. And we tend to agree. The photo shows the connection of the present to the past and the connection between Louisiana's State Police and the people they serve.

In order to earn a spot in the calendar State police will need you to go vote. The voting link allows you to see the other entries from other states. I must admit, Alabama is trying too hard with a helicopter and a battleship.

Florida included a rocket launch in their photo, and the Mississippi Highway Patrol needs to learn a little more about lighting, but all three departments submitted some fine photos.

Vote for Louisiana State Police Right Here.

To earn a spot on the calendar Louisiana will need to place in the top 13 in votes. So your vote does make a difference. The photo of the cruiser that gets the most votes will be featured on the cover of the calendar. The voting is active right now and you have until July 29th to cast your vote in the contest.
