On Saturday, Monroe Police responded to a call on Blanks Avenue regarding an animal cruelty complaint. According to police, 25-year-old Tyler D. Cross was accused of stabbing the dog while it was asleep.

In the video obtained by police, it reportedly captured the incident. In the footage, Cross is seen standing over the sleeping dog and stabbing it repeatedly. Afterward, Cross was allegedly heard telling his roommate that “something was wrong with the dog.”

KLFY reported that Cross admitted that he had been drinking heavily at the time and claimed he did not remember his actions. However, he reportedly took full responsibility for his actions.

Cross was arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty. At this time, authorities have not released details about the condition of the dog or Cross’s bond status.
