Louisiana Meteorologist Has Car Damaged in Wild Shooting

Meteorologist Scott Pilie', who works and lives in New Orleans, says this fiancee's car was severely damaged after a shooting took place in their quiet neighborhood.

Pilie' says that the shooting happened at 2:30 AM and he estimates that there were 12-18 rounds of AK-47-style gunshots.

The couple quickly hit the floor of their home, not knowing where the gunshots were coming from, but it turns out the shooter was aiming for a nearby residence.

Amazingly no one was killed in the shooting, but Pilie' says in his social media report that the person next door was shot in the leg. He also stated that bullets entered another home nearby, barely missing the person occupying the home.

It is believed that the teenage party happening next door at an Airbnb was the target of those shooting in the area.

The vehicle that was struck many times is likely totaled and now Pilie' says it is time for more gun reform and it is time to get illegal guns off of the street.

The New Orleans Police did respond to the shooting, and they are leading the investigation.
