Football is a religion in the State of Texas. And now that the Lone Star States most noteworthy college football powerhouses are both in the Southeastern Conference, where it "Just Means More" it seems that all is right with the world.

The Texas Longhorns are nationally ranked right at the top of most of the major college football polls. The Texas A&M Aggies are in the Top 25 as well, they are ranked at number 25 in a tie with UNLV according to the Associated Press.

But whether you are a T-Sip or a former fan of Jimbo Fisher you can likely agree on one thing, it's fun to see the Oklahoma Sooners looking stupid on the national football stage. Granted the oft-on-probation Sooners are ranked number 19 by the AP they are finding the sledding to be rather tough now that they too are a member of the SEC.

On Saturday the Sooners made their way down to the "loveliest village on the plains" to face the Auburn Tigers. The Sooners managed to come out of the game on top despite the fact that only six players had offensive stats in the game. Check out the score sheet. It's amazing that they won the game.

Or maybe it's amazing that Auburn managed to lose the game, especially after it was discovered before the game began that an OU football player is no match for an Auburn cheerleader. Don't believe me? Check out the video.

That was a solid takedown. I am sure had the game been underway the refs would have flagged the cheerleader for necessary flipping to the facemask or something stupid like that.

We are pleased to report that both the cheerleader and the OU player are well following the incident. I am sure the young man from OU will have trouble living that lick down but that's what happens when you step up to "Big Boy" football. Just wait till the Sooners play Mississippi State, the Bulldogs have some corn-fed cheerleaders, but I don't know if they can actually flip or even touch their toes.
