Texas Lottery, Powerball Confirm $526.5 Million Jackpot Saturday
In recent weeks the Texas Lottery has confirmed major payouts in several of its most popular games. There was a big Lotto Texas with Extra! Win in Lone Tree. Texas Two Step made a big money winner in San Antonio. Mega Millions made a $2 million winner in Dallas. And that's winning from just the past three months or so.
It's no wonder business has never been better at the Texas Lottery. Not only do the games they create on the local level make winners in Texas. But Texas players are more than holding their own in the multi-state lottery games such as Powerball and Mega Millions.
Mega Millions just made a jackpot winner last week. In fact, that game only has two more drawings under its current format before it moves to a higher priced ticket and what game creators say is a better chance to win bigger jackpots.
But Mega Millions is not our focus at the moment. Right now we need to be looking at Powerball and a confirmed million-dollar win from the Texas Lottery. Here's how the drawing played out on Saturday night.
Normally, this is the point in our story where I tell you no tickets sold matched the numbers needed and blah blah blah. However, there was one ticket sold that did match all the numbers needed to claim that top prize of $526.5 million. There were also several other tickets sold that matched enough numbers to claim a prize in excess of $1 million. So, we've got details to get to.
Here are the numbers from Saturday night's drawing: (3.29.25)
07 11 21 53 61 Powerball 2 Power Play x3
According to the Texas Lottery, there were 58,784 winning tickets sold in Texas for Saturday's Powerball drawing. Of those 58,784 tickets sold four of them earned a prize of $50,000 or more. While more than 37,000 Texas Lottery players earned at least their money back to cover the cost of their ticket.
If you are holding a ticket that shows you purchased an apparent winner you'll want to verify those numbers at the Official Texas Lottery Website. That site will confirm your win and offer prize redemption information for your winning ticket as well.
We know that three tickets sold in Texas for Saturday's drawing matched four of the five white balls of the Powerball. Those tickets are worth $50,000 by rule. Because two of the players added Power Play to their ticket, their prize is multiplied, in this case by 3, to $150,000. The Texas Lottery does not publish point-of-purchase information for wins below one million dollars.
This is why we can tell you where a one-million-dollar Powerball ticket was sold in Texas for Saturday's game. If you played Powerball in Dennison Texas at the Speed Track, you might be holding a one million dollar winner.
I am sure you're wondering where the jackpot winner was sold, right? It was sold in California. Meanwhile, in addition to the Texas Match 5 Million winners, there were two other Match 5 winners made in Georgia. Plus one each in Ohio and Oregon.
So all in all it was a lucrative weekend for big wins in Powerball. The game's jackpot resets to $20 million for tonight's drawing. Meanwhile, Tuesday's Mega Millions game will feature a top prize of $29 million.
If you choose to play these or any lottery games please know the chances of winning are slim at best and most lottery tickets are not winners. If you have a gambling problem call 1-800-GAMBLER. The call and the counseling are available at no cost to you. Good Luck.
