Jeff Cox Upsets Incumbent Jay Caraway for 2nd Circuit Seat
Bossier Webster District Court Judge Jeff Cox beat Caraway who was was elected to the 2nd Circuit Court in 1996. Caraway is from Homer and credits his roots in the rural community as his key preparation to serve on the bench.
Cox was elected to the District Court Bench in 2004. He also served as an assistant District Attorney in Bossier Webster Parish.
According to the latest campaign finance report, Cox outspent Caraway five to one. The court of appeal seat represents nine parishes in north Louisiana including Bossier, Webster and Lincoln.
Cox defeated Caraway with 57% to 43%.
