Judas Priest Unveil Signature Dark Spiced Rum
Judas Priest have just unveiled a signature spiced rum, which marks the band's entrance into the world of spirits, following the likes of so many of their peers. Unfortunately for fans worldwide, the liquor is only set to be released in Sweden at this time.
"We are thrilled to announce the release of a new rum produced together with Brands For Fans," said Priest in a statement. "The complex nature of this new blend and the general versatility of rum goes hand in hand with the music produced by us over the last 50 years. It's rum with a touch of evil."
Judas Priest Spiced Rum comes in 500 mL bottles and is listed at 37.5 percent ABV and the group noted the spirit's flavor profile, describing that it "packs a metal-like punch with spicy notes of arrack, vanilla, burnt sugar and raisins."
Fans can purchase a bottle to save as a collectible or to imbibe and enjoy here.
There's a lot on the horizon for Priest as next year marks the 50th anniversary of the band's formation (they originally formed as Freight in 1969, changing the name in 1970). For the second time in their career, they've been nominated to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and are among the early leaders of the fan vote.
Singer Rob Halford has ramped up chatter about a forthcoming memoir and he also recently released Celestial, a holiday collection of original and cover songs recorded with his family and friends. Meanwhile, Glenn Tipton has been working on riffs for the next Priest record.
