Will residents of Shreve Island and Broadmoor be ok with a new restaurant in the neighborhood that has a full bar? The site is right next door to homes and not far from Shreve Island Elementary School.

Shreveport and Bossier City could soon be home to a new seafood restaurant. Juicy Seafood Kitchen and Bar is set to open up inside the old Piccadilly Restaurant on Shreveport Barksdale Highway. They also have plans to open a location on East Texas at the site of the old Logan's Roadhouse.

But there might be a hitch in the giddyup for the Shreveport location. The Piccadilly did not serve alcohol. The Juicy Seafood Kitchen and Bar does have alcohol. In fact, on the company website it says:

We Offer A Full Liquor Bar with Daily Specials, Bottled beer, draught beer, sprites, and wine.

Will a full bar be allowed at this location? The Piccadilly site is right next door to several homes. But there is a full liquor store at the Super One grocery store. And across Shreveport Barksdale Highway is El Jimador which serves alcohol.

KEEL News has checked with the Metropolitan Planning Commission to find out if the company has filed for a zoning change to allow for the sale of alcohol. So far, there has been no such application and no signs have been put outside the business indicating there has been an application for a change.

Bonita Crawford with the Broadmoor Neighborhood Association says she hopes residents and neighborhood groups in the area will be fully informed of the plan for this location on Shreveport Barksdale Highway.
