Lafayette Police Officer Killed

A Lafayette police officer has died when he got into an exchange of gunfire with a suspect at a convenience store. State Police say the officer was responding to a call about a battery at the store.

But, when the officer arrived, the suspect opened fire on his. The Lafayette police officer was shot and killed.

Officials say two other people at the scene were wounded.

The investigation is still ongoing.

The suspect has been arrested.
