The Lane Train has returned to the SEC, as Ole Miss brings Lane Kiffin on board as Head Coach.

Brett McMurphy from Stadium has reported the deal for Lane is 5-years, and worth over $20 million.

The 44-year-old Kiffin already has experience in the SEC, with one year as Head Coach at Tennessee in 2009, and 2 years as Offensive Coordinator under Nick Saban at Alabama between 2014-2016.

Kiffin won a National Championship with Alabama in the 2015 season.

He also has NFL coaching experience, as the Head Coach of the Oakland Raiders from 2007-2008, though Kiffin was fired before he could complete the 2008 season. He ended his NFL coaching stint with a 5-15 record.

Since 2017, Kiffin has been the Head Coach at Florida Atlantic, where he won 2 of 3 Conference USA Championship. He also won the Boca Raton Bowl in 2017. His record at Florida Atlantic ended at 26-13.

Kiffin takes over an Ole Miss program that has struggled to find a consistent Head Coach since David Cutcliffe departed. Matt Luke was relieved of his duties earlier this season. Luke took over for Hugh Freeze, after Freeze faced multiple NCAA violations. Prior to Freeze's tenure, Houston Nutt's tenure was also full of NCAA violations.
