True anglers never stop planning their next fishing trip.  Some even make plans to get out and fish while they're fishing.  I know a few fellows that were sitting in their deer stands just thinking about that secret honey hole where all of the big ones wait.

It seems the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is thinking about fishing too.  The LDWF has announced that it will be stocking ponds across the Sportsman's Paradise with Rainbow Trout.  This amazing fish typically calls the north-west portion of our country home, but for a limited time in January 2020 anglers will be able to wet their hooks in search of this rare (for our region) aquatic specimen.

The best part is - you don't even have to know what you're doing.  First time, no boat?  No problem!  The rainbows will be waiting for you at 13 different locations across the state, and 4 of those are in North Louisiana!

Keep checking the Get Out and Fish website for the exact dates here, make sure your fishing license is ready, and chase that rainbow!
