Shreveport Investigators have arrested a teenager accused of making threats to shoot students at a local high school.

A DARE officer assigned to Caddo Magnet High School was alerted about a student making threats to shoot other students on the campus at Viking Drive. The DARE officer immediately detained the 16-year-old suspect and called detectives in to check out the claims.

Detectives started interviewing witnesses and they learned the suspect was allegedly overheard making threats to kill students at the school. Investigators also learned that he was allegedly witnessed surfing the internet for information on how to make bombs and watching videos of school shootings.

SPD issued this statement:

Due to the circumstances, a search warrant for his residence was procured and executed. Detectives seized undisclosed items subsequent to the search. The suspect was booked into the Caddo Parish Juvenile Detention Center on one count of Terrorizing.

And the release from SPD continued:

The Shreveport Police Department encourages all students to report any threats they hear or any behaviors they feel are strange or threatening to school staff members immediately. “If you see or hear something, say something”.
