Longview Police arrested a truck driver for DWI at around 3:30 this afternoon after a bus-related crash that sent 3 people to the hospital. East Texas Matters reports that the yet-to-be-identified man refused to take a breathalyzer test after an accident involving a truck.
According to the report, the truck headed north on Dean Street ran a stop sign at the bus intersection of Hutchings Boulevard when it hit the bus. Longview ISD can confirm that bus #34 was involved in the wreck. Officials are in the process of requesting a blood draw from the unnamed driver to either prove or disprove that he was driving while intoxicated.
3 adults were taken to a local hospital, and a child was checked out by officials at the scene and released. At the time of the wreck, 2 adults and one child were aboard the bus.
This is coming on the heels of an incident with a bus in Haughton that injured several students and adults involved. Please be careful out there are watch out for school buses. They are huge and yellow - should be easy to spot
