4 Year Old Louisiana Girl Dies When Forced to Drink Bottle of Whiskey

A mother and grandmother have been arrested by the Baton Rouge Police Department in the horrific death of a four year old toddler.

According to police records, on April 21, at 10:50 am, Baton Rouge Police officers showed up at a residence on Wallis Street in Baton Rouge in response to a report of an unresponsive toddler.

The toddler, China Record, only four years of age, had died at the scene. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that the victim's grandmother, Roxanne Record, 53, had allegedly forced the child to consume a bottle of whiskey, while the mother, Kadjah, 28, watched.

The police report goes on to say that detectives believe the consuming of alcohol caused China's death. The victim's Blood Alcohol Content was an astonishing .680.

To keep that in perspective, in Louisiana the legal limit declaring a driver to be unfit to operate a motor vehicle is .08 and this child's alcohol level was over eight times over that. Not to mention, she was only a four year old child.

In a story published by the Louisiana Radio Network we learn that L'Jean McKneely, spokesperson for the Baton Rouge Police Department said, “We learned that the grandmother had become upset with the four-year-old, forced her to drink a bottle of Canadian Mist whiskey which caused her to then pass out, become unconscious and later die.”

McNeely continued, “The mother was there, she did not stop the grandmother, nor did she make an attempt to render any kind of aid when the four-year-old went unconscious.”

Both Roxanne Record and Kadjah record were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for first degree murder.
