In their story, we learn that the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office was recently called to the scene on I-310 in St. Rose to respond to reports of a man sitting high in a tree as he tried to flag down passing drivers.

Turns out that our rocket scientist wasn’t there just to demonstrate his squirrel-like abilities, he told deputies that he was actually on the run from a police department.

Our Tree Hugging Suspect Was Evidently Telling The Truth

According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, we see that as the deputies continued their investigation they found that indeed the suspect had fled from another local agency “in a vehicle they found abandoned along I-310.”

Once the St. Rose Volunteer Fire Department successfully rescued the male and the St. Charles Parish Emergency Medical Services checked him out for injuries, he was immediately taken into custody.

I rest my case on the presumed intellect of these criminals.
