When it comes to first responders, I believe these heroes should be covered in every which-way imaginable.

To be completely honest, I was shocked to realize that as of right now, Louisiana first responders don't get any help medically from the state to combat their PTSD. As we all know, PTSD is not an illness that only effects military members.

PTSD is a mental health condition that's triggered by a terrifying event, either experiencing it or witnessing it. Meaning PTSD can literally effect anyone on the planet, and most likely does in many ways. Naturally, I have to imagine the number of first responders in our country, much less our state, that experience PTSD is incredibly high.

These heroes are the first on the scene, no matter how horrible or tramatic.

Kudos to Ryan Gatti, Bossier City Senator, for proposing this law, which will take effect beginning August 1st.
