More than a month after admitting their first COVID-19 patient, a Louisiana hospital is celebrating an amazing milestone - it's 1,500th Coronavirus patient discharge!

It's no secret that New Orleans has been one of the (if not the) hottest zones in the country in terms of infection rates.  Logically, it makes sense that the city is also home to some the fastest rising recovery rates.  Thankfully, we are starting to see that now.

KTBS is reporting that 57 year-old Kathleen Bennett was admitted to Ochsner Medical Center on March 27th.  She was placed in intensive care, and even had to be hooked up to a ventilator for 12 days.  According to the report, Bennett was released from the hospital's custody on Monday during a tearful reunion with her granddaughter as a musician played "When the Saints Go Marching In".  Doctors will reportedly still monitor her condition, but she is free to quarantine with the rest of her family in Kansas now.

Officials are cautioning the public that even though recoveries like this are awesome, you should still practice social distancing and self-isolation guidelines at this time.
