Metal Allegiance: More Special Guests Announced + Loudwire to Stream Tomorrow’s ‘Fallen Heroes’ Show
SoCal, brace yourself! Metal Allegiance are finalizing details for their special "Tribute to Fallen Heroes" performance in Anaheim on Friday (Jan. 20), and they've added several more name guests to the lineup. Plus, if you're not able to make it to Anaheim, you'll be able to catch the show right here as Loudwire will exclusively stream the performance.
Joining the all-star outfit for the show will be Alice in Chains bassist Mike Inez, Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner and former Black Sabbath, Dio and Heaven and Hell and current Last in Line and Resurrection Kings drummer Vinny Appice. They join an amazing lineup that reads like a who's who of hard rock and metal. The core Metal Allegiance members Mike Portnoy, David Ellefson, Alex Skolnick and Mark Menghi will be joined by Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante, Testament vocalist Chuck Billy, Motorhead drummer Mikkey Dee, Halestorm drummer Arejay Hale, Butcher Babies' vocalist Carla Harvey, Suicide Silence frontman Eddie Hermida, Slayer and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt, Machine Head guitarist Phil Demmel, Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho, Death Angel singer Mark Osegueda and Winery Dogs bassist Billy Sheehan.
"I’m stoked to return to Southern California where this crazy Metal Allegiance concept and once pipe-dream of an idea all spawned from way back when! SoCal and the entire Anaheim area are so damn near and dear to me as we started this thing there… and now we get to return to our second home in SoCal and unleash our brand of thrash. Get ready for the biggest and craziest MA show to date," says Mark Menghi.
Fellow core member Alex Skolnick adds, "A Metal Allegiance show is always a great time for us and the audience, but nothing quite compares to when it happens in Anaheim during the month of January. It becomes a very big event and with so many friends in town, we're able to have a unique combination of musicians that would be very difficult to pull together otherwise. This will be the first time we play our originals in Anaheim and the first time we do specific dedications to our Fallen Heroes. It will be a very special night. See you there!"
Metal Allegiance's own David Ellefson states, "Every year, Anaheim becomes the largest gathering and annual musician summit anywhere in the world. I'm proud that this year Metal Allegiance is taking center stage to make sure it gets very loud with a special tribute to the many great 'Fallen Heroes' of our genre."
"I am so honored to be invited to perform at such a prestigious event. To be honoring such legends on stage is one of the most humbling and bad ass experiences in my life. Metal horns up for metal GODS," states Suicide Silence's Eddie Hermida. "So excited to be joining my friends in Metal Allegiance for their Fallen Heroes tribute in Anaheim this year! I'll get up for a few songs and we'll have a fabulous night of incredible music! Don't miss it," adds Winery Dogs' Billy Sheehan.
Fozzy's Chris Jericho says, "Of all the bands playing in Anaheim that week, this is the one show you don't wanna miss! Thrash metal played at its finest by a band that has sold over 50 million records collectively with an audience made up completely of bikini models! Well, all of those things might not exactly be true, but you get the idea. The point is, come see the coolest f--kin’ band in Anaheim that week -- Metal Allegiance!" "Can't wait to eat lightening and crap thunder with my bros in MA again at our Fallen Heroes tribute show in January," concludes Machine Head's Phil Demmel.
Metal Allegiance will take over the City National Grove of Anaheim this Friday (Jan. 20), with sets from guitar virtuosos Marty Friedman and Gus G., as well as the band Martyrd opening the evening at 7PM PT. Tickets for the show are available at this location.
As stated, Loudwire will be on hand to live stream the performance. You can watch via our Facebook and YouTube pages. The concert stream goes live at 10:15PM PT / 1:15AM ET for those who aren't able to make it to Anaheim.
