The state of Texas leads the nation in number of farms and acres of farmland. In fact, Texas doubles the #2 state in both of those rankings. So its not by a little either. We're not talking about a scenario where Texas just barley beats a smaller state, which would be unfair when considering the state's size. More than doubling the second place state should be enough to make the point.

But its not just the size of the farmland, its what you do with it. And Texas is profitable with its farmland.

Texas is a top 5 producer in the US across at least 11 different crops when you consider the value of its production. That's a long way of saying Texas makes more money off about a dozen crops than 90% of other states. Crops like pumpkins, lemons, rice, and cabbage that you might not associate with Texas, all have Top 5 nationwide value for the Lone State State.
