New Local Restaurant Opening in Downtown
A healthy city needs a vibrant downtown. I've said this before, and I firmly believe it. So it always makes me happy when I see businesses, residential developments, and revitalization happening in downtown Shreveport.
So it's exciting to see new, local businesses investing in downtown, like the official opening of the new Pepito's XO on Texas Street. Even though they had a soft opening recently, Pepito's XO will officially open in ArtSpace on August 22nd. One of the most beloved restaurateurs in Shreveport, Pepito Munoz most recently had a location in the old El Chico's location off Fern Ave, in the Madison Park area. He brings Executive Chef Raul Rodriguez and his globally inspired creations including seafood, steaks, fish and vegetarian options.
“We are thrilled to welcome Pepito and his restaurant into the artspace family,” says Pam Atchison, Executive Director of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council, which manages artspace. “Pepito XO @artspace is one more step in the ongoing development of downtown Shreveport as an arts and entertainment destination.”
Pepito's XO takes over the previous Parish Taceaux location in ArtSpace, at 708 Texas Ave. downtown, and will feature indoor dining, as well as a large sidewalk cafe, and office lunch options. The new Pepito's XO will also feature appetizers, lunch, and dinner options, including entrees, desserts, and drinks of all types, as well as weekend brunch.
“There has been so much anticipation over this,” says Liz Swaine, Executive Director of the Downtown Development Authority, which owns 708 Texas St. “When people found out it was Pepito moving into the restaurant space, they just couldn’t contain themselves. Every week since the information got out, I have been answering the ‘but when?’ questions. Pepito has a lot of loyal fans and I know he will win even more with Pepito XO @artspace.”
