Fancy a plate of real fish and chips?  Well, starting today a dish of that distinctly British delicacy is closer than you think.

British Airways today launches a new direct flight between New Orleans and London. The flight will be offered four times per week and will be serviced by the 214-seat Boeing "Dreamliner".  The trip will take approximately 10 hours.

New Orleans is the 23rd city in the U.S. that British Airways serves.  The airline expects The Big Easy to be a hot destination for its British customers.  New Orleans officials are hoping the new route will open up international markets and create jobs and opportunity for the city and the state of Louisiana.  The last time that direct service to Europe was offered regularly from New Orleans was way back in 1982.

The approximate cost for a round-trip ticket is $900.
