I love seeing the signs that the Shreveport / Bossier City area is finally emerging from the pandemic.  It's almost an allegory to spring itself to see new restaurants emerge from a pretty barren COVID-19 landscape.  Some of our favorite eateries are finally getting the much needed traffic vital to their survival, but quite a few others didn't make it.  Now, even some of those painful reminders of dinner spots from the before time are starting to show life once again.

Back on April 2nd of 2020, I reported that the Logan's Roadhouse in Shreveport and Bossier City would be part of a massive shutdown that would close 261 stores due to some financial mishandlings at the executive level left the company with no day-to-day money to operate the stores.

After a "will-they-won't-they open" period where the corporation that owned Logan's tried various business models to stay in operation (including curbside and delivery-only), the Shreveport restaurant would limp through all of the mandates and the quarantines - the Bossier City location would not be so lucky.

Imagine my delight to see construction at that very same Bossier City location this weekend!  The details are scarce at this point, but here's what we do know:  It's a seafood restaurant.  It's called "The Mighty Crab," and the local chain has been making waves in the ArkLaTex with numerous new locations - the latest announced in Tyler.

No open date has been released yet, and as far as what will be on the menu: the best indication is to look at the closest open location - that's in Longview, Texas  If it's any indication of what's on the culinary horizon - I'm stoked!  One look at the menu has me hungry: Crab legs, fried catfish, shrimp, calamari, and more sound good to me!
