Is a Iconic Shreveport Spot About to Become a Starbucks?
I went to Tacomania for the last time last week. The news broke that Tacomania was calling it quits and we heard a collective gasp all over Shreveport-Bossier. A Shreveport staple is leaving us forever. How can this be?
We shouldn't be so distraught that Tacomania has called it quits. Let's keep in mind that the building has been for sale since October of 2020. According to the listing, it was for sale for $750,000. The 5,248 square foot restaurant sits on a large enough lot to where you'll get a massive parking lot to go with it.
Is the Ample Parking What Attracted Starbucks?
I spoke to the owner of Tacomania and what he said stopped me in my tracks. Mr.Tony said that there were big plans for the land. "They're going to tear down the entire building and build a Starbucks here with a huge drive-through.". Could it really be that Kings Hwy is about to get a Starbucks?

This will be the fourth stand-alone Starbucks in Shreveport. This isn't counting the Starbucks located inside Target or Kroger. Alan Clark the Executive Director of the Metropolitan Planning Commission confirmed with KEEL News that there is in fact a plan in place to bring Starbucks to the Tacomania building.
According to Mr.Tony at Tacomania they will close their doors on Saturday, April 23rd. We don't have a timeline on when the building will be torn down or when construction will begin.
