Nightly Closures of I-220 to I-20 Ramps to Begin Again Wednesday
The work continues this week at I-220 and I-20 at the Barksdale Air Force Base Interchange and will require some alternative plans to navigate the area later this week.
The itinerary below is somewhat different than what the DOTD had anticipated just a couple weeks ago, so you'll want to pay close attention and keep checking for other possible adjustments.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has just updated their website to advise motorists of the following ramp & lane closures related to the ongoing construction of the new I-20/I-220/Barksdale Air Force Base Interchange project:
- Wednesday, September 22, 2021: I-20 eastbound to I-220 westbound ramp closed from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Outside lane of I-220 westbound between I-20 & US 80 will also be closed during the same time period.
- Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. – Monday, September 27, 2021 at 5:00 a.m.: I-20 eastbound to I-220 westbound ramp closed.
- Thursday, September 23, 2021: US 80 to I-220 eastbound ramp closed from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Inside lane of I-220 eastbound between I-20 & US 80 will also be closed during the same time period.
- Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. – Monday, September 27, 2021 at 5:00 a.m.: US 80 to I-220 eastbound ramp closed. The inside lane of I-220 eastbound will also be closed between I-20 & US 80 during the same time period.
Alternate Route: Detour signage will be in place.
The work will be done weather permitting.
