Louisiana residents are being urged to pray for the family of slain State Trooper Adam Gaubert. A procession was held in his honor on Monday as his body was moved from the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office to Rest Haven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge.

Gaubert was killed in an ambush on Oct. 9.

Leaders across Louisiana are remembering the 19-year veteran of State Police.

State Fire Marshall Butch Browning posted this message:

The SFM family stands in mourning with Louisiana State Police and the Gaubert family following the tragic loss of Master Trooper Gaubert.

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards said that LSP Trooper Adam Gaubert “represents the best of all us.”

Senator John Kennedy is offering prayers for the fallen trooper:

Master Trooper Adam Gaubert served Louisiana faithfully for almost two decades with the LA State Police. There just aren’t words for this deep loss. Becky and I are praying for his loved ones and fellow troopers.

 

People who knew him say Gaubert was an exceptional trooper who served all with dignity and respect.

The man suspected of killing Gaubert faces a long list of charges.
