Remember the One Chip Challenge from 4 Years Ago? VIDEO
I can not believe it's been four years since I did this. It was a big deal across the country. It was called the "One Chip Challenge". Lots of people across the country were trying this chip and posting videos. So I jumped on the bandwagon and ordered a chip. The Paqui company of North Carolina, produces a single chip made from the Carolina ghost pepper, a "snack" so hot that it measures up to one million units on the Scoville scale.
Now, I must tell you I do not like spicy things. So I gathered up all kinds of things to help ease the heat. I brought in Prilosec, Pepto Bismol, eggnog, bread and semi-melted Blue Bell ice cream to cool off my tongue after tasting the chip.
We even had a couple of Shreveport Firefighters on hand just in case things went south.
I donned a hazmat suit and gloves to take this challenge. Once I took a bite, I started to shake and for some reason, I stood up and my whole body jerk. That chip was hot. I mean seriously hot. I would never do this again. I turned and started digging into the Blue Bell to cool my tongue off. As you can see on the video, I throw my arms in the air in triumph.
You can watch for yourself as I beat the chip.
