While we cringed that Jerry Jones was going to come after head coach Sean Payton, there's still other personnel that we need to worry about.

A report from the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says that Saints linebacker coach Mike Nolan is heading to the Dallas Cowboys to become the Defensive Coordinator.

I think we all knew that the Saints wouldn't be intact going into the 2020 season. Drew Brees left his return as cryptic as always saying, "I’m not making any comments on that other than as I’ve told you guys the last couple of years, I always take it one year at a time. I kind of re-evaluate each offseason, find the things I want to get better at and move along.”

Then there were the rumors that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones would be coming after Sean Payton after firing head coach Jason Garrett. Payton has a history with the Cowboys as he sat as the assistant head coach & quarterbacks coach from 2003-2005.

Thankfully, those rumors were laid to rest when it was announced that Jerry Jones hired former Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy.

Then, the first domino fell less than 24 hours after the Saints lost in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs.

Mike Nolan, who was the Saints linebacker coach for the last three seasons, had accepted the defensive coordinator position for the Cowboys.

The Saints linebacking core saw success under Nolan (see Demario Davis). So, this is a(nother) tough loss for the Saints.
