Rich Childers Is Latest Recipient of Caught in the Act Award
Before we go any further, I've got to say THANK YOU to Rich Childers and all our Veterans. Thank you for your commitment. Thank you for your service. Thank you for keeping America the land of the FREE and the home of the BRAVE.
Rich not only served our country himself, but he continues to serve by working with our area veterans. Especially those who just need an understanding ear. An ear who has heard some of the sound horrific sounds; the sounds of war. The sounds of pain.
Rich has been there and it's his mission to eradicate the 22. Twenty two veterans are lost every day due to the long term mental stresses of war. And as Rich says, "one is too many."
And THANK YOU to Rich's wife, Cindy, who let us know about Rich's heroics and his involvement with the incredible organization, Cover 6 Outdoors. It was Cindy's nomination letter that made our job of selecting Rich so much easier. He's this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.
My husband, Rich Childers, is a volunteer for A Veteran group called Cover 6 Outdoors. This year, they are holding their 3rd Annual Crappie Tournament on Grand Bayou in Coushatta. He is the Louisiana chapter rep and has been with this group for 5 years now. This organization is run by Veterans for Veterans. Cover 6 outdoors introduces Veterans back to the outdoors, with a kind of non-traditional therapy. So it's Veterans with Veterans being able to talk freely with people who understand how they feel (other Veterans).
Rich Childers, because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner!
Take a listen to the phone call we made to Rich to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
