With heavy rainfall moving through the area and flash flood warnings in effect, sandbags are being made available to residents in Shreveport and Bossier. Some weather experts say we can expect 3 to 6 inches of rain through out day. You pair that with already high water levels, it could spell disaster for some.

If you want to protect your property and a prepare for any flood waters, there are several places to get sandbags in Shreveport/Bossier.

In Bossier: 

  • Maintenance facility on Mayfield Street in Benton.
  • Fire District 1 station on Hwy. 80 east in Haughton
  • Bossier Fire Dist. 2 on Robertson Rd
  • Satellite Storage bins on McKinley Ave. in Haughton and W. Palmetto in Plain Dealing.

In Shreveport, at this time, the only place to get sandbags is at the City Street and Drainage Yard at  3825 Mansfield Road.

A flash flood warning will be in effect in Bossier Parish until 7am Thursday morning. At this time, no warnings have been issued for Caddo Parish.
