Saturday Shooting Ends Night At State Fair In Shreveport
A Saturday night shooting at the State Fairgrounds in Shreveport ended the night early for the Louisiana State Fair tonight.
Reports of the shooting came in just after 9pm. With more than a dozen Shreveport Police Units responding to the call at Pershing Blvd, near Livestock Blvd and Hudson Street. Roughly the address for the State Fairgrounds. Shreveport Fire responded at the same time for what was listed as a "medical emergency".
KSLA has reported that one juvenile victim was rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. KSLA reports the juvenile has life threatening injuries, but the official condition of the juvenile has not been confirmed at this time.
One witness Tweeted that she witnessed a male get shot, which she described as a "lil boy"...
Another witness tells KEEL News that the State Fair was shutting down because of the shooting. Which was also mentioned by another Tweet:
The reports from KSLA, and witnesses online, say that Shreveport Police have detained suspects on the scene, but Shreveport Police have not confirmed that at this time.
Details are still emerging on this incident. Police are still investigating the scene.
