One of the most heart-breaking stories in our region continues to grow as our neighbors in Texas search for a 10-year-old girl.

Earlier this week, Kayla Gomez Orozco attended church in the small east Texas town of Bullard, and she hasn't been seen since. An Amber Alert was issued for Kayla early Wednesday morning.

Police have ruled the case as a missing person situation, but haven't ruled out possible abduction. They also believe she may be in immediate danger.

Being as this took place just over 100 miles from here, it's my hope that maybe someone in our area knows something or has possibly seen something. An anonymous donor gave $10,000 to Cherokee County Crime Stoppers to go to an award for information that helps bring Kayla Gomez Orozco home.

Gomez is 4 feet tall and weighs about 90 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black Racquet and Jog shirt with a peach-colored skirt.

The FBI has joined in the search for the young girl. You can submit a tip to the FBI's Dallas office at (972) 559-5711.

Please help spread the word and let's find this sweet baby girl.
