The Shreveport Fire Department was dispatched at 11:39pm this evening to the 2800 block of Anna Street to a reported residential fire.

Fire Engine 4 was the first unit on scene at 11:43pm and reported a single story home with heavy flames and smoke billowing out from the rear of the house. Firefighters were able to enter the home through the front door and locate and extinguish the fire. The residence was occupied by a person at the time of the fire, but they were able to escape unharmed.

It took the efforts of 15 firefighters—5 fire units, and after several minutes the incident was placed under control. The residence received heavy damage to the rear of the structure. The cause of this blaze is currently under investigation.
