Louisiana campaign finance reports are in and some of the numbers might surprise you.
The deadline to report for the November 8 election was on October 11 and there is a clear leader in the battle to raise money in the Shreveport Mayor's race.

Democratic State Senator Greg Tarver raised $381,000 and has cash on hand of $389,000.

Political analyst Scott Hughes says "with the money Tarver's got on hand, he can dominate the airwaves and get his message out over the next 3 weeks."

Republican Tom Arceneaux raised $194,000 and has cash on hand of $207,000.

Coming in a distant 3rd in the campaign war chest race is Democratic Mayor Adrian Perkins. He has raised $81,000 dollars and has cash on hand of $65,000. He did spend more than $70,000 of campaign funds on his legal fight to stay on the ballot.

Hughes says "unless Perkins's got a major influx of cash coming in, I think he's in trouble."

No Party candidate Mario Chavez has raised $219,000 and has only $44,000 in cash on hand.

Democratic Shreveport City Councilwoman LeVette Fuller's report has not yet been posted online.

Hughes says the money coming in at this late stage will come in for the 2 who lead. He thinks this could be good news for Tarver and Arceneaux.

The election is November 8. Early voting for the election is October 25 through November 1 (excluding Sunday, Oct. 30) from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Click here to get all your election information.
