Shreveport Mudbugs Unveil 2023 Military Jerseys

The Shreveport Mudbugs hockey team is well known for their unique team name and logo. As the only ice hockey team regularly playing in Louisiana, they certainly know how to carry the state's creative flair. They do it like it's their responsibility to rep the entire state to the hockey world (because it is).

One of the best ways the team shows off that creative style is through their specialty jerseys. From their Christmas jerseys to Mardi Gras, and geeky jerseys to St. Patrick's Day, the team has had some amazing sweaters. But they might save their best work for honoring the military.

If you have never had the privilege to enjoy a Shreveport Mudbugs hockey game, you know that two of the biggest features of a Mudbugs' home game are the National Anthem, and Hometown Heroes. During the Hometown Heroes celebration, a local military servicemember or vet is honored during the game. Its one of the ways the Mudbugs organization gives back to military members.

They also honor the military every year with their Military Appreciation weekend, which almost always includes special military jerseys. This year's version might be an instant classic. Since this weekend is Military Appreciation weekend, its a good time to look at this year's sweater.
