Shreveport Police Arrest Man for Armed Robbery
On March 23rd, 2023, at 8:05 a.m. Shreveport Police responded to an armed robbery in the 2900 block of Marquette Avenue. As officers arrived, it was discovered that a female victim was robbed, and the reported suspect fled to a residence in the 7100 block of Penny Street.
Shreveport Police Patrol officers attempted to contact the suspect however the suspect reportedly barricaded himself in the attic of the residence with a firearm.
Shreveport Police Special Response Team and Crisis Negotiators were called to the scene around 9:20 a.m. The Bossier City Police Department and the US Marshals also responded to provide resources. The suspect identified as Leondrea Crawford (12-7-76) surrendered without incident at approximately 1:00 p.m.
Crawford was arrested and charged with one count of armed robbery and warrants from other jurisdictions. Further charges for Crawford are pending.
