Police detectives are looking into the early-morning death of a Shreveport City Jail inmate.

According to a news release, just before 1:00 a.m., Fire Department paramedics responded to the jail regarding an inmate who was found unconscious inside a cell.

The man, identified as 58-year-old Isaac Greear of Bossier City, was transported to University Health, where he was later pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation revealed Greear was booked into the jail on December 14 for outstanding criminal warrants issued through the Shreveport City Marshal's Office. He was the only inmate in the cell at the time he was discovered. The investigation into his death continues.
