Shreveport Police Officer Arrested on Rape Charges

A Shreveport Police Officer who was on leave for an unknown reason, has been arrested. 33 year old Leroy Bates Jr. was arrested on Thursday (8/19/21) and placed in the Caddo Correctional Center.

Bates was booked and charged with Third Degree Rape. Bates was released on a $250,000 bond Thursday evening and took to Facebook to proclaim his innocence.

Bates is innocent until proven guilty. This case is still an active investigation, and the story will be updated as more information is forthcoming.
