On August 8th, 2022, around 10am Shreveport Police Department Patrol officers responded to the 6500 block of Central Street on reports of a shots. Responding officers located witnesses who advised that Dam’on Lewis had fired a weapon at an individual but did not strike them.
Investigators with the Violent Crimes and Crime Scene Units were summoned to the scene. CSIU collected items of evidence and investigators canvassed the neighborhood. Detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of Da’Mon Lewis (04/15/89) for one count of illegal use of a firearm, one count of felon in possession, and one count of aggravated assault with a firearm.
On September 4th, 2022, Shreveport Police Patrol officers responded to a call for service in reference to shots fired located in the 6100 block Linwood Avenue. As officers arrived on scene Da’Mon Lewis was located and taken into custody by officers for his outstanding warrants. Additional charges are expected to be added.
Due to the new laws issued in reference to mugshot releases in the state of Louisiana we are asked to remind that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
