I was convinced there was no way of knowing if someone had COVID-19 unless they went and got a test done. I'd hear from one person that it was just like having the flu, another person claimed their body felt like it had been hit by a train. Most of the folks that have recovered from COVID-19 that I know didn't have similar symptoms. The one thing they all did agree on was the loss of taste. Odd right?

Luckily for us, King College London put in a lot of work to give us the six different types of the virus with varying symptom clusters. 1,600 patients in the U.K. and in the U.S. were tracked by an app from March to April. The researchers were on a mission to help doctors identify the medical care that patients need. Researchers anticipated a second wave and wanted to be proactive.

Here is what The COVID Symptom Study said on their webpage: "The findings have major implications for clinical management of COVID-19, and could help doctors predict who is most at risk and likely to need hospital care in a second wave of coronavirus infections."
