Taco Bell Launches Vegetarian Menu
Starting today, (Thursday, September 12) you can order from the brand new vegetarian menu at Taco Bell restaurants. There are two new meat free options, but the company is quick to point out that they have always been vegetarian-friendly.
Under the 'Vegetarian Favorites' menu, you'll find items that are certified by the American Vegetarian Association (AVA), including Black Bean Crunchwrap Supreme and Black Bean Quesarito. There are now a total of 13 menu items that are AVA certified, and 36 AVA certified vegetarian ingredients offered.
According to a press release via Thrillist, Taco Bell’s Global Chief Food Innovation Officer Liz Matthews says 'At Taco Bell, we believe that vegetarian food shouldn’t be a compromise; it shouldn’t be limited to one item, and it shouldn’t be just for vegetarians. For years, we’ve consistently proven that our vegetarian menu options are so craveable that even non-vegetarians unknowingly go veggie because they just love the taste. We’re committed to building on this insight and plan to further innovate in this growing space.'
Let us know if you try any of the new menu items, y'all!
