Teachers Union Confirms Caddo Teachers Contact With COVID-19 Patient
Today, Red River United Teachers Union President Jackie Lansdale addressed ongoing rumors and concerns that have come up surrounding teachers in Caddo Parish Schools. For the last few days, rumors have been flying on social media that local teachers have been exposed to the patient in Caddo Parish who was diagnosed with COVID-19, what's commonly known as Coronavirus.
Lansdale's post on the union's social media reads as follows:
"Three Caddo school employees are indirectly connected to the SWEPCO employee who tested positive. Swepco has closed the floor where the ill employee worked. All employees on that floor have been sent home.
The three Caddo employees with indirect contact have also been sent home. At least one has been tested.
As we find out more, we will let you know."
The contact is being referred to as "indirect", but has been concerning enough to have one of the teachers tested. No results from that test have been made public.
