
Ted Nugent on Controversial ‘Ferguson’ Court Ruling: ‘Justice is Served’
One of rock's most outspoken and controversial figures, Ted Nugent, has weighed in on the Ferguson ruling, which incited riots in the Missouri city throughout the night. Despite the outrage felt across the nation right now, Nugent has taken the unpopular stance that "justice is served."
The fatal shooting of black, unarmed 18-year-old Michael Brown by white police officer Darren Wilson, 28 at the time, has consumed the U.S. for the past three months. A grand jury chose not to indict Wilson in the fatal shooting, eliciting an impassioned and furious response. Ferguson businesses were set ablaze while others smashed store windows and looted.
According to Yahoo News, 61 arrests were made in Ferguson overnight, many for burglary and trespassing. There were an additional 21 arrests in St. Louis. One St. Louis police chief even claimed that 10,000 officers would be needed to successfully stop the riots.
As for Ted Nugent, he believes the grand jury made the correct decision, further commenting on race relations in the U.S.:
